Go and do the same.

After telling the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus made a powerfully simple, but imperative statement:

“Now go and do the same.” (Luke 10:37b, NLT)

Its easy for us to talk about Jesus’ teachings, especially as a pastor! I’m good at finding all kinds of interesting aspects. But Jesus didn’t tell the story so we’d have more information, He told the story to inspire us to get off our butts and go act. You can’t get much simpler: “Now go and do the same.”

“God, help me to reach out to those who are different than me with the compassion of Jesus, even when it is inconvenient and when it costs me my own time and money. Help me to have eyes open to opportunities where I can GO AND DO THE SAME!
