The Roundabout Way

“God did not lead [the Israelites] among the main road... even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land... God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.” (Exodus 13:17-18, NLT)

Sometimes the journey that God has for us isn’t the easiest or quickest path. In fact, often, God leads us in a roundabout way through the wilderness. But He does this for our own good (the Israelites were not yet battle ready). Most of all, He does this for His glory. May we not doubt God’s leading when He shows us the path that seems to lead nowhere. May we faithfully follow God’s leading no matter where He leads us!
