Crouching

Before Cain murdered his brother, God warned him about the jealousy that was festering in his heart:
“You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” (Genesis 4:7, NLT)
For most of us, sin is indeed crouching at the doors of our lives, eager to control us. Satan is shrewd (Genesis 3:1) and will patiently wait for moments when we are hungry, angry, lonely, and/or tired. But we “must subdue [sin] and be its master.” Today, may we not be led into temptation, but may we see that God has already delivered us from the evil one. May we turn our eyes to Him and look for His way of escape!
