Obedience will strengthen you

Over the past two days, I’ve been looking at John 4. Please take a couple of minutes to read through this encounter that Jesus has with the woman at the well.

After his conversation with the woman, Jesus’ disciples return, and they’re a bit confused about what has transpired in their absence. In response, Jesus states, “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing His work.” (John 4:34, NLT).
As followers of Jesus, this should be true of us. We should gain nourishment and strength from DOING GOD’S WILL. Mark Batterson has stated “most Christians are educated way beyond their level of obedience.” And its true. You don’t need to read another devotional book or listen to another sermon. Most American Christians have WAY more resources and tools than Christians have EVER had. Simply put, we need to be faithful to obey what we have already learned. And here’s the cool thing... it’s nourishing! Obedience will strengthen you!
Jesus knew that He wasn’t here by accident... He recognized that He had been sent by God and so obedience was the main thing. May we also realize our calling to be obedient
