Journey's Vision - #3 Community Impact

God forbid, if Journey Church ever had to permanently close our doors, how would the people of Sandusky County respond? Would they even notice our absence? We hope that they would mourn, and even protest, the loss of a real community asset! We want Sandusky County to know that we exist not due to clever marketing schemes, but through the practical ways that we show love to our community!

We dream of creatively engaging our community by constantly surprising them with God’s love. Whether it's hosting fun, safe events for kids or taking one of our Sunday morning services out on a serving fieldtrip, we believe that we can positively IMPACT our community.

In addition, we want to partner with ministries in our community that are already making a difference (rather than trying to reinvent the wheel just so that we can tout OUR church). Imagine sending out scores of volunteers to partner with the Liberty Center, community food bank, the adult literacy program, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

Let's pray that 2008 will be a great year of community impact!
