Strategy or Character?

General Norman Schwarzkopf stated, “Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be without the strategy.”

In the 30 years since Schwarzkopf, leadership experts talk incessantly about strategy.  Yet character still really, really matters.  More than anything, we want to follow people we can trust… men and women with integrity.  It’s not either-or.  It’s both-and!  “Stormin’ Norman” was right.  We need leaders with strategy AND character!

Who is/was the best leader you ever personally followed (other than Jesus)?  What did you notice about his/her character?
